Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni "David" Art Review

While I'm in a working mood I thought I'd finally get this dissertation of Michelangelo's finest sculpture and possibly Magnum Opus out of my system. So why is this excellent and deserving of my and your attention right now? Well there are so many reasons. This huge sculpture (17ft) is an exercise in beauty and form at it's purest. Let's neglect the Euro-centric face to focus on the perfect male form that is not only anatomically correct but is what I call the exemplary male figure. I guess that's why I'm biased towards this master work above others he created. I like to think I'm starring at the mold I was created from. I mean personally I'm circumcised and a bit more well endowed, though I'm fully aware the statue is flaccid. Lol. But the point I'm trying to make here is that a mortal man chiseled a piece of Art to resemble another with 1:1 accuracy at 3x the scale. This feat rivaled only by God herself who could then insert a soul and free will into her sentient creations. This labor of love and patience is a reminder that the awesome is possible and an ode to precision. Bravo.
